The Business
SARCOR, LLC (SARCOR), established in 2008 provides engineering and project management services. Sarcor also provides a full range of engineering design services, planning, and construction management solutions to local, state and federal government clients and utility companies throughout the Southeast. The business was established when Selena Rodgers-Dickerson left her employer and decided to start her own business. Sarcor, LLC is a woman owned Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) /Disadvantaged Business (DBE) / Economically Disadvantaged Woman—Owned Small Business (EDWOSB).
Rodgers-Dickerson transitioned to a business incubator hoping to use as a platform to continue to grow her business and other small businesses.
Rodgers Dickerson realized in early 2015 she needed to move into her own facility if she was going to develop the capacity to expand.
She approached TruFund seeking financial support the business needed to respond to a period of rapid growth by hiring staff and obtaining the equipment and software she needed to serve their client’s needs internally.
Due to TruFund’s support, SARCOR is now better positioned to respond quickly to new project awards. The company is poised to begin projects approaching twice their 2016 revenues in 2017. Anticipated job creation as a result of TruFund’s involvement, 8 jobs over the next 24 months and retention of 5 jobs.
