Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Market Manager the Business Advisor is a front facing employee in direct contact with TruFund’s current and potential loan clients, referral, and program partners. The Business Advisor supports the expansion and diversification of target market and mission aligned referral sources. The Business Advisor is also responsible for generating target market aligned small business lending leads. The ideal candidate will be adept in preparing leads to qualify and apply for TruFund loan products as well as providing advisement as needed during loan packaging process, providing advisement post loan disbursement and capturing data capture and documents for reporting purposes. The Business Advisor will also support the Market Manager in building and cultivating relationships within their market by speaking at public events and engaging local stakeholders. This role also has close coordination with other leaders within the organization to include but not limited to SVP, National Market Operations and SVP Strategy and Innovation.
Primary Job Functions:
Partnership & Program Coordination
- Work with Market Manager to identify and maintain partnerships in service market
- Coordinate all aspects of business advisory services and program delivery within the market
- Coordinate small business workshops, webinars, and trainings within the market
- Provide expert knowledge of TruFund’s programs, services, and products to develop a tailored approach to potential partners and clients in service market
- Represent TruFund at local and state events to increase community awareness of TruFund’s services
- Deliver presentations to local and state stakeholders and constituents outlining TruFund’s offerings
- Work closely with program sponsor, Market Manager to plan and develop scope, required resources, work plan, and timing for new initiatives
Loan Referral Generation
- Actively promote TruFund products and services within the market
- Educate and orient referral sources and partners
- Gather preliminary loan documents from clients
- Make small business lending referrals to Business Development/Lending team
Business Advisement
- Provide one-to-one business advisement and business coaching to clients
- Work with subject matter experts to provide industry specific knowledge to business advisory clients when required
- Assess and improve client readiness to apply and qualify for TruFund small business loans
- Prescribe and support action plan to improve readiness to qualify for TruFund small business loans
- Provide advisory support services and/or refer out to partner organizations
- Conduct business assessments
Education and Related Work Experience:
- 3-5 years of banking or financial services experiences
- 3-5 years in small business advisement, business coaching or consulting
- 3-5 years project and/or program management or program administration
- Experience in program data collection
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance

Salary: Grant funded position. Salary commensurate with experience.
