Position Summary:

The Development Manager reports to the Vice President, Resource Development and supports the stewarding of current institutional partners (companies, private foundations, and government agencies) and securing new partners. Stewardship responsibilities include meeting partner benefits in visibility, customer and employee engagement, and government and community relations, and keeping partners informed through reports and briefings. The Development Manager helps secure new partners by conducting prospect research, helping staff and board members cultivate contacts at prospects, drafting introductory letters and e-mails, setting up calls, meetings, and site visits, customizing presentations, writing proposals, and assembling grant packages. Manage CRM system (i.e., donor database) by entering data on partners and prospects and producing reports and analyses. Experience and Education:

Required • Three – five years in institutional resource development (or related experience) • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred • Work at a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) or in related fields such as economic and community development, financial empowerment, and workforce development

Skills and Knowledge: • Grant and letter writing • Powerpoint presentations • Prospect research • Use of analytic tools and databases Attributes: • Proactive and self-starting • Creative in identifying prospects and grant opportunities • Efficient: understands where and how to expend limited time and resources • Optimistic and persistent
