TruFund is a Community Development Financial Institution “CDFI”.  The New Markets Tax Credit program is part of the portfolio of products and services that TruFund offers to enable access to private investment in distressed communities.  The program is designed to connect community-owned businesses with private capital to enable community economic development and wealth creation in underserved communities.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Market Manager, the Program Officer  is the direct contact with TruFund’s clients. The Program Officer  builds relationships within their region or area by speaking at public events and offering or referring clients to program areas within TruFund, including but not limited to Lending or Disaster Recovery programs. They are responsible for identifying, acquiring and expanding access to grant funding and additional sources of capital within their target markets with as well as providing training and business advisory services to small businesses and non-profit organizations.  They serve as the front end of pipeline development, developing sources of capital, promoting TruFund’s offerings within their markets and raising community and stakeholder awareness of TruFund’s services.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Provide expert knowledge of TruFund’s programs, services and products to develop a tailored approach to potential clients in their regions
  • Leverage deep familiarity and a large business network within the geography they serve
  • Identify and cultivate funding and grant sources to provide program and lending capital in their state or region
  • Partner with and refer potential clients to internal teams at TruFund including Lending, Disaster Recovery and New Market Tax Credits
  • Deliver training and client advisory services to community clients
  • Represent TruFund at local and state events to increase community awareness of TruFund’s services
  • Deliver presentations to local and state stakeholders and constituents outlining TruFund’s offerings

Education and Related Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years of banking or financial services experiences or 3-5 years services in a non-profit environment
  • 3-5 years in community development or community organizing
  • 3-5 years in consulting environment
  • Sales experience within a financial services environment
  • Bachelor’s degree

Salary:  Grant funded position.  Salary commensurate with experience.
