Desiree Thomas Returns to TruFund as Vice President & Director of Climate Finance

NEW YORK, NY - November 1, 2023 - TruFund Financial Services, Inc. is delighted to welcome back Desiree A. Thomas, MBA, as she reprises her role with the organization, this time as the Vice President & Director of Climate Finance. In this capacity, Desiree will play a pivotal role in advancing energy-efficient projects on a national scale. Her extensive and diverse professional background in affordable and workforce housing development, real estate investing, corporate and investment banking, and business development, uniquely positions her to lead TruFund's efforts in the critical field of climate finance.

Desiree Thomas brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having previously managed her own real estate multifamily investment portfolio. Prior to her return to TruFund, she served the organization in the capacity of Asset Management and Compliance Manager, where she expertly oversaw the New Markets Tax Credit portfolio. Her remarkable career journey also includes leadership roles at Dantes Partners as VP Real Estate Development, Wilder Balter Partners as VP Operations, and New York City Housing Preservation and Development, where she excelled as Deputy Director of Preservation Finance and in Asset Management. Moreover, Desiree was a valued member of the Business Development and Investor Relations team at Archimedes Alpha LLC, an emerging Hedge Fund, and she held the position of Senior Vice President of the Financial Institutions Group at J.P. Morgan.

Beyond her professional achievements, Desiree Thomas is an advocate and philanthropist, serving on the Board of Directors of Unique People Services and Open Access. She holds an MBA from The Wharton School, where she was recognized as a Robert Toigo Fellow. She is also a graduate of the General Management Program at Harvard Business School and an alumna of Project REAP (Real Estate Associate Program). In addition, she is a participant in the inaugural class of Open Access, where she earned a certificate in New Markets Tax Credit, and an alumna of the LISC NY Developers of Color Training Program.
