October 2, 2023, NEW YORK, NYTruFund Financial Services, Inc., a leading non-profit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) is thrilled to announce TruImpact Week 2023, a week-long celebration dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the significant impact  it has made in the cities they serve.

TruFund’s mission is to help historically disadvantaged individuals and communities create thriving and resilient small businesses and entrepreneurial ecosystems to close the racial and economic disparities and ensure an inclusive and equitable society.  This is done by empowering underserved communities by providing access to affordable capital, investment, and business advisement.  For the last eighteen years, TruFund has been committed to fostering economic development, supporting small businesses, and creating positive change in the communities that have been historically disinvested.

“As the CEO of TruFund Financial Services, Inc.  my mission is clear:  to empower communities and support the creation of a more prosperous and inclusive future for all.” said James H. Bason, President and CEO of TruFund Financial Services, Inc.  “TruImpact Week embodies our commitment to make a meaningful and impactful difference.  It’s also a reminder that our impact is not just measured in numbers, but in the lives we touch, the dreams we support, and the communities we empower.”

TruImpact Week, taking place from October 2 – 6, 2023 across TruFund’s footprint states of New York, Louisiana, Alabama, and Texas and announcing the expansion into Atlanta, GA is an opportunity to showcase the achievements and partnerships that have allowed us to make a difference and have Tru-Impact!  Throughout the week, we have planned a series of events, discussions, and initiatives that highlight our ongoing commitment to economic empowerment and community development.  Key activities during TruImpact Week include:

  1. Community Capital Conversations will take place in Harlem, NY; Baton Rouge, LA; Houston, Texas and Atlanta, GA. These conversations are a thought-provoking series of discussions aimed at addressing critical financial challenges and opportunities within our communities.  In a world where access to capital and financial resources can be a determining factor for success, TruFund is committed to facilitating conversations that empower individuals, businesses, and organizations to build a more equitable future.
  2. TruFund will announce its strategic expansion into Atlanta, GA. To celebrate this expansion and to formally introduce TruFund Atlanta to the community, we will be hosting a series of events and engagements over the coming months.  We invite community leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizations to connect with us and explore opportunities for collaboration.
  3. The first TruImpact Golf Tournament is more than just a day on the greens; it’s an opportunity to make a real impact in the community. This event will bring together golf enthusiasts, community leaders, corporate partners, and small business owners for a day of purpose driven competition, fundraising and networking.
  4. In celebration of National Women’s Small Business Month, TruFund invites you to participate in Women & Wealth Wednesday. This virtual initiative aims to provide women small business owners resources and access to capital they need to scale.  We will focus on various aspects of financial literacy, wealth building through small business ownership and economic empowerment.  Together we can help women build brighter financial futures.
  5. At TruFund Financial Services, our commitment goes beyond financial empowerment and access to capital; it extends to actively participating in and contributing to the well-being of the communities we serve. “TruImpact In the Community Day of Service” is a manifestation of our dedication to making a difference.  Our staff will engage in various community service projects, join forces with fellow volunteers and community partners to create lasting positive change.

“TruImpact Week is not just a celebration; it’s a commitment to amplify the ripple of positive change, a reminder that together we have the power to build stronger communities and brighter futures.” Said Dr. Kim Carter Evans, Senior Vice President | Managing Director of TruFund Financial Services, Inc. “It is the heartbeat of our mission, where we orchestrate a symphony of transformation, creating harmonious change that resonates deeply in the communities we serve.
