TruFund Financial Services, Inc. Announces Expansion of the Restore Louisiana Small Business Program to Provide Recovery Assistance to Louisiana Small Businesses in 21 Parishes Impacted by 2016 Floods

Baton Rouge, LA - August 01, 2017 - TruFund Financial Services, Inc. has announced it will expand its work with the Restore Louisiana Small Business Program to provide financial assistance to small business owners in four additional parishes.

Small businesses in East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Ascension, St. James, Tangipahoa, Washington, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Livingston, Beauregard, Jefferson Davis, Allen, Calcasieu, Pointe Coupee, Iberville, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, and now Ouachita, Vermillion, Lafayette and Acadiana Parishes are eligible to receive $20,000 - $50,000 in loan assistance.

In May and June of 2017, TruFund, in partnership with various community organizations, hosted a series of informational sessions for small business owners to learn more about the financial assistance available through the Restore Louisiana Small Business Program. With the expansion of the program, TruFund will be providing virtual informational sessions every Tuesday, beginning Aug. 1, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. CST.

Since being awarded the grant through the Restore Louisiana Small Business Program, TruFund has continued to see an increase in applicants due to our comprehensive outreach and communications efforts. Small business owners located in any of the total 51 affected parishes are still able to apply for loans until the available funds have been depleted.

"We’ve had tremendous success with the Restore Louisiana Program thus far," said James H. Bason, President and CEO, TruFund Financial Services, Inc. "However, we know that there are still impacted businesses who haven't yet taken advantage of this assistance. We expanded our reach to ensure that we're servicing all of those affected so that their businesses and communities may continue to rebuild in the wake of this disaster."

Virtual session participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the program and speak with TruFund loan and program officers. Small business owners can still apply for loan assistance through the Restore Louisiana Program online at www.trufund.org or in person at the TruFund office, located at 8550 United Plaza Blvd, Suite #702 in Baton Rouge.

"Our first round of informational sessions proved to be a great tool for interacting with and getting to know these business owners and the integral role they play in their communities," said Kim Carter Evans, National Director of Corporate Communications, TruFund Financial Services. "We hope that the addition of these virtual sessions will give those who were unable to attend an opportunity to learn more and receive the financial assistance they need."
