TruFund Welcomes Jerrel Duffy as Vice President of Impact Investments

NEW YORK, NY – February 5, 2024 – TruFund Financial Services is excited to announce that Jerrel Duffy, Jr. has joined TruFund as the Vice President of Impact Investments, starting Monday, February 5, 2024.  He will be joining the Structured Lending & Investments team focused on providing access to capital to historically under-resourced affordable housing developers.

Jerrel brings a wealth of experience, boasting a remarkable 15+ year commercial banking background with a strong emphasis on affordable housing. His expertise lies in investing bank equity into affordable housing projects through LIHTC investments. Jerrel has also successfully financed construction loans and Fannie Mae loans for limited equity cooperatives.

Throughout his distinguished banking career, Jerrel has lent on projects of varying sizes, ranging from $2 million to $75 million, across all asset classes. His impressive track record includes placing investments in funds with bank commitments spanning from $10 million to $60 million. These funds have been managed by various affordable housing syndicators, both in sole proprietary funds and multi-prop funds.

Jerrel's educational background is equally commendable, holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He earned his MBA from the University of Maryland College Park and a Master of Professional Studies in Real Estate from Georgetown University. Furthermore, Jerrel is a proud holder of the CFA’s Private Markets and Alternative Investment Certificate, showcasing his dedication to professional excellence.

We are confident that Jerrel's unique skill set, combined with his commitment to impact investments, will significantly contribute to TruFund's ability to reach additional developers who have traditionally lacked access to capital from conventional sources and generate positive social impact.
