Wisdom Fund

The Wisdom Fund is a fixed-income vehicle that increases capital access and lending for small businesses and nonprofits that are majority-owned (51% or greater) by a woman. The impact investment platform, CNote has co-created the Wisdom Fund with CDFIs like TruFund to bring new thinking, experimentation, and sustainable solutions to drive wealth creation for women of color in the United States.

Terms and Conditions

  • Locations: Women-owned businesses located in any of TruFund’s market
  • Amount: $50,000 – $750,000
  • Loan Structure: Term loans, Lines of Credit
  • Terms: Six months to five years
  • Interest Rate: 8-10%
  • Application Fee: $250
  • Closing Fee: 3.5% for New York applications; 3% for Louisiana and Alabama

Eligibility

  • Credit: Must have a FICO credit score of at least 600
  • Minimum Debt-Service Coverage Ratio: 1.10x
  • Collateral: Borrowers are required to pledge available collateral. Insufficient collateral will not preclude borrower from obtaining financing
  • Repayment Terms: Monthly P&I payments (may have interest-only period)
  • Business Requirements: Business must have been in operation for at least one year
  • Requirements for Nonprofits: Business must have been in operation for at least three years
  • Business must be majority-owned (51% or greater) by a woman

Personal guarantee of all principals with 20% ownership or more. Nonprofit applicants are required to have board members and third-party guarantees.
