City & State’s Who’s Who in MWBEs, spotlights key players in this arena—including leaders of MWBE firms of all sizes, public officials driving MWBE policies, and industry advocates working to ensure greater equity and opportunity.
Among these leaders is James Bason, president and CEO of TruFund Financial Services. Under his leadership, TruFund delivers capital, resources, and business advisory services to undercapitalized small businesses, including MWBEs. These services not only close economic gaps but also empower businesses to expand and create jobs. Recognizing the diverse needs of entrepreneurs, the organization also provides a language assistance plan to better support those with limited English proficiency.
In April, Bason further extended his impact by joining the board of directors of the Community Development Financial Institutions Coalition, a national advocacy group dedicated to expanding access to capital in economically disadvantaged areas.
