TruFund Financial Services, Inc. a national Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), is excited to announce TruImpact Week 2024 supported by the Regions Foundation, a longtime community partner of TruFund Financial.
TruImpact Week is a multi-day celebration of empowerment, growth, and opportunities for small-business owners across the country. Sponsors include Morgan Stanley, Community Capital Link, Capital One Bank and Novogradac.
Under way now through Oct. 10, TruImpact Week 2024 will showcase a series of workshops, networking events, and keynote sessions designed to provide essential business services and resources to entrepreneurs and small businesses. TruFund’s mission of strengthening underserved communities aligns seamlessly with the Regions Foundation’s focus on empowering communities through addressing economic development needs, building financial wellness, and more.
“We are proud to collaborate with the Regions Foundation year-round to provide more opportunities for more entrepreneurs to elevate their operations and unlock new opportunities,” said James H. Basons, President & CEO of TruFund Financial Services, Inc. “In addition to grantmaking organizations like the Regions Foundation, we appreciate the support of our sponsors who also provide crucial resources to move our work – and, in turn, the work of small-business owners forward. Together, we are all helping ensure businesses from underserved communities have the tools they need to succeed and thrive in today’s competitive landscape.”
The Regions Foundation is an Alabama-based nonprofit that is primarily funded by Regions Bank. The foundation engages in a grantmaking program supporting economic and community development, education and workforce readiness, and greater financial wellness throughout communities served by Regions Bank.
“If we were to sum up the work of TruFund in one word, that word would be ‘access.’ Access to opportunities. Access to guidance. Access to the right tools to help business owners thrive,” said Marta Self, executive director of the Regions Foundation. “That’s why we’re proud to support the work of TruFund through our community partnership. This is about more than helping TruFund provide capital – it’s about helping TruFund, and its team give more business owners access to a successful future.”
In addition to a week full of impactful programming, TruFund will release its 2023 Impact Report, highlighting key successes and progress in supporting small businesses and fostering economic development over the past year. The report will underscore the organization’s commitment to uplifting underserved communities through financial services, education, and business support.
Dr. Kim Carter Evans, TruFund’s Senior Vice President of Operations and Chair of TruImpact Week, said, “TruImpact Week is a unique opportunity for small business owners to gain invaluable insights and access to services that can propel their ventures forward. We are excited to collaborate with the Regions Foundation to offer a robust platform where entrepreneurs can learn, connect, and grow. The release of our 2023 Impact Report during this week further reflects our dedication to making a measurable difference in the communities we serve.”
A key highlight of the week is the inaugural TruImpact Awards, taking place on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the prestigious Empire Penthouse in New York. The awards ceremony will recognize outstanding partners, funders, investors, and small businesses that have made significant strides in fostering economic growth and community impact. This event will serve as a testament to the collaborative efforts of TruFund and its stakeholders in driving sustainable success for small businesses nationwide.
TruImpact Week 2024 promises to be a transformative experience for small-business owners looking to enhance their skills and expand their networks. With support from the Regions Foundation and additional community partners, this event is set to continue TruFund’s tradition of creating impactful, sustainable growth for underserved communities.
