Joell realized she should start selling her homemade iced tea when it became a big hit among her friends and family. Before she knew it, she was taking orders from friends of friends. However, as a first-time and serendipitous business owner, Joell was new to the world of running and operating a small business. Recommended by a friend, she came across TruFund’s Business at the B.E.A.C.H program, which she credits was transformational for her business.
Joell was able to make a business plan, come up with a sales pitch, and learned how to calculate her profits, helping her transform her business from a home operation to a resilient business. Furthermore, she was able to establish a network through the program, including TruFund staff members and other small business owners who continue to mentor her. With her fortified business plan, Joell is looking to expand her delicious Royaltea into local grocery stores.
