TRUIMPACT ANNOUNCEMENT – TruFund Announces Closing of its Neighborhood Health Center NMTC Transaction

NEW YORK, NY | January 8, 2024 – Empowerment Reinvestment Fund (ERF), a subsidiary of TruFund Financial Services, is proud to announce the closing of its Neighborhood Health Center NMTC transaction! ERF partnered with three CDEs to provide a total of $19.5 million in NTMC allocation to fund the rehabilitation of an abandoned school into a 40,000 sf Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), known as the Oxford Clinic, in a Medically Underserved Area of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

In addition to providing primary and specialty healthcare services, the Oxford Clinic will focus on prenatal and neonatal services to reduce high instances of neonatal and maternal deaths, which are disproportionally affecting African American/Black women and infants in the community. To support these services, the new FQHC will also house the local Women Infants and Children program offices. The new FQHC will create 58 new permanent quality jobs and allow for 26,000 new patient visits a year – 80% of whom are low income.

ERF has received $390 million in NMTC allocation over eleven rounds. In its 21-year history, ERF has created/retained nearly 8,000 jobs in 54 projects. Seven of those projects received $46 million in NMTC allocation from ERF and are providing vital healthcare services to nearly 130,000 patients annually in Medically Underserved Areas across the country, a majority of whom are low income.
